About La Jolla Cove
La Jolla Cove is a small, picturesque cove and beach situated within a nature preserve in the upscale village of La Jolla. The crystal-clear waters, protected as part of the San Diego-La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve, offer some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving on the California coast. Garibaldi fish, leopard sharks, and colorful invertebrates thrive in the kelp forests just offshore. The cove is also famous for its resident sea lions and harbor seals, which bask on the rocks and occasionally swim alongside snorkelers. Above the waterline, stunning sandstone cliffs frame the cove, and the charming shops and restaurants of La Jolla Village are just a short walk away.
